ALMAR, OLA DE CIRCO

Founded in 2020 in the vibrant Vista Mar neighborhood of Puerto Colombia, ALMAR, OLA DE CIRCO is an innovative social circus project combining training, community, and artistic residency. With the necessary infrastructure, we develop projects that have a social and cultural impact while supporting initiatives aligned with our mission.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Strengthen participants’ critical capacity through training, research, and artistic and cultural exchange, creating discourses that address the challenges of the region.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • Create spaces for training and cultural exchange for all ages.
  • Foster critical thinking about the context through artistic experiences that promote social transformation.
  • Facilitate collaboration with individuals and organizations to advance artistic and cultural development.

OUR MISSION:
To be a playful and educational space that engages the community in its cultural environment, promoting creativity and exchange through circus practices aimed at children and young people.

OUR VISION:
To become a national reference in social circus, establishing headquarters that strengthen alliances with leaders, foundations, artists, and educational institutions to socially transform our communities. Our first headquarters will be located in Cartagena, Sucre, and Puerto Colombia.

PLANT INSTRUCTORS

Carolina Duncan

Circus artist and coach, first Colombian clown with the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. Founder of Duncan Playful Circus and the first circus training center in Puerto Colombia.

Dondier Buitrago

Circus actor and performer, specializing in tightrope and aerial techniques. Founder of Circclusive, a sociocultural inclusion program through the arts.

Circus Wave: Training in Circus Techniques
For individuals over 16, offering practical workshops in acrobatics, juggling, and more, with certified endorsements.

Joyous Circus: Social Circus Pedagogy
Workshops for children and young people to enhance talents and train community leaders.

Live the Wave: Artistic Residency Program
Spaces for the exchange of knowledge and the creation of artistic products, strengthening collaborative networks.

La Barca: Cultural Programming

Promoting public training in Puerto Colombia through monthly artistic performances and regional meetings with local organizations.
